Home in Order

Privacy Policy

Last updated: 26 October 2026

This policy explains what information Home in Order (the "app") collects, why, who it is shared with, and the choices you have. Home in Order is operated by SGTechStudio, based in India ("we", "us"), who is responsible for your personal data. Questions or requests: support@homeinorder.org.

1. What we collect

Account information

What you and your household add

Everything you enter in the app, including shopping lists, chores, calendar events, meal plans, expenses and bills (amounts, who paid, how costs are split), inventory, checklists, travel plans and itineraries, wishlist items, habits, care tasks, and memories with any photos you upload.

Care tasks and memories can include information about a child, an elderly relative or a pet in your care, such as task names, schedules and categories like health appointments. This is entered and controlled by the adult account holder; the people it describes are not users of the app.

Device information

When you contact us

If you email us, including through Send Feedback in the app, we receive your email address and message. Send Feedback pre-fills the app version and your device model and operating system version; you can remove these before sending.

We do not use analytics, advertising or tracking tools, and we do not sell your data or use it for advertising.

2. How we use it

Only to provide the app: to let your household share and coordinate information, keep track of shared costs, store shared memories, send the reminders you've enabled, send account emails (sign-up confirmation and password reset), and respond to your messages. We process this information to perform our agreement with you (the Terms of Service), and for our legitimate interest in keeping the service secure.

3. Who can see your data

ProviderWhat forLocation

ResendSending sign-up confirmation and password reset emailsUnited States
ExpoRelaying push notificationsUnited States
Google (Firebase Cloud Messaging)Delivering push notifications to Android devicesUnited States / global

A reminder notification contains the reminder's title and the name of the item, such as a chore name, so this text passes through Expo and Google to reach your device.

We may also disclose information if required by law.

4. International transfers

Your data is stored in the EU (Ireland). Some providers above are based in the United States, so limited data (for example, your email address for account emails, or notification text) is processed there. These providers protect transferred data under their own contractual and legal safeguards.

5. How long we keep it, and deleting it

6. Security

Data is encrypted in transit. Access is restricted by the database so each household can only reach its own data, and on phones your sign-in session is stored encrypted. No system is completely secure, so we can't guarantee absolute security.

7. Your rights

Depending on where you live (including under the EU/UK GDPR and India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023), you can:

For anything you can't do in the app, email support@homeinorder.org. We aim to respond within 30 days. For complaints and grievances, contact SGTechStudio at the same address.

8. Children

You must be at least 16 to create an account. The app is not directed at children, and we don't knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we'll delete it.

9. Changes to this policy

If we make significant changes, we'll update the date above and let you know in the app or by email before they take effect.
